Stepping into your first heels class is exciting, and being prepared can make all the difference! To help you feel confident and ready to slay, here's a quick guide on what to bring and wear.
1. Your Heels (or Socks!)
First and foremost, bring a pair of comfortable heels. If you’re just starting out, choose heels that aren’t too high — something in the two to four-inch range is perfect. Avoid platform heels AT ALL COST, and try to find shoes with ankle support for stability. As you grow more confident, you can work your way up to different heel heights!
However, if you don’t have heels yet, no worries! You're welcome to wear socks instead. Grip socks or cotton socks are great alternatives. Just avoid slippery polyester materials that could make you slide. Socks work fine, but it's recommended to invest in a pair of heels as you progress. You'll find that dancing in heels can really enhance your balance and movement as you grow more comfortable.
2. Athletic or Dance Gear
Even though we’ll be dancing in heels, comfort is still key. Wear something that allows you to move freely — think leggings, dance tights, or fitted shorts with a comfortable top. You want to feel good and look good, but your outfit should also allow you to focus on your moves without distraction.
3. Knee Pads
Depending on the choreography, we might spend some time on the floor. Knee pads can be a lifesaver for those moments, protecting you from bumps and bruises. Plus, they’ll help you feel more comfortable as you dive into those deep, sexy floor transitions.

4. Water Bottle
Dancing in heels is a workout! Stay hydrated throughout the class by bringing a water bottle. You’ll be surprised how much energy you’ll use as you work on your form and moves.
5. Positive Attitude
Most importantly, come with an open mind and positive vibes. Heels classes are all about empowerment, confidence, and fun. Don’t worry if you’re not perfect on your first go — learning and growing is part of the journey!
